Please wait a few minutes after taking the checkers before discussing the race, congratulations, etc. Please allow time for the entire field to finish the event first as others are still racing to the finish when the leaders take the checkers.

Incident point procedure

Incident penalty points are the same as last season.
5 incident points in the race = 2 penalty points
10 incident points = 4 penalty points

Post Race Procedure:

All drivers must do a cool down lap after the checkers and be able to return to pit road, this meaning get past the cones on entrance to pit road under your own power, you cannot be assisted. Winners can do a cool down lap and return past the pit entrance to the start finish line post-race for photo opportunities and burn outs.

(Amended post-race procedure rule 10/26/14)

Returning to pit road legally requires you to follow the normal racing surface. Cutting the course or taking shortcuts is not permitted. Examples include "cutting a chicane" or "taking an access road" to shorten the trip back to pit lane on the in-lap. Doing so will be an automatic 4 point deduction from your results and standings regardless of whether you make it back to pit lane or not.

Failure to comply will cause the driver to lose 4 points from their results and standings.

Track specific rules:

If and when there are track specific rules, Daytona yellow line rule as an example, they will be posted in the current race day forum thread and added here as well.

Track specific Rules for Daytona Road Course and any other Rovals including Homestead RC

All practice, qualifying and racing will be above the yellow lines out on the oval portion of the track. Any use of the apron to pass or gain an advantage is not permitted. The only exception will be for accident avoidance subject to post race review. Advancing your position below the yellow lines will result in a post-race penalty.

Daytona Pitting: You may not pit on a lap where you miss and blow through the bus stop, doing so will result in a post-race penalty.

amended slow down penalty black flag rule 6/13/2013
You may not pit in at any track while you have a Black Flag displayed for a “course cutting” penalty, (slow down), in an attempt to clear the Black Flag. Any track position gained by cutting the course, will be communicated quickly and the positions gained given back on the track as soon as it is safely possible to do so. Any attempt to clear a Black Flag by entering the pit access road, will result in an automatic 4 point deduction from the drivers results and standings. This will also be subject to further race review for gained time. Repeat infractions may receive additional post race sanctions. Do not attempt to clear a Course Cutting Black Flag by pitting; you must serve the penalty on the race track.

(Amended pitting rule 11/14/13)

you must take the green flag before pitting, this means you must cross the start/finish line and take the green flag before entering pit road in our road course events

addendum 7/29/2012 Points Tie Breaker Procedure:

Two or more drivers tie for points after a completed season

The driver with the most wins this season takes the position.
If there is still a tie, the driver with the most top-5's takes the position.
If there is still a tie, the driver with the most top-10's takes the position.
If there is still a tie, the driver with the lowest inc/race safety rating will take the position.
